>Judge Denies Shorter Sentence For Man Accused Of Killing Wife
(Lancaster, PA) — A Lancaster County judge is denying a request for a shorter sentence by a man convicted of killing his wife over 40 years after her disappearance. Jere Bagenstose claimed his 4-to-10-year sentence was excessive after he was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter this past April for the death of his wife Maryann in 1984. The judge rejected Bagenstose’s argument, stating that he “avoided consequences of his action for four decades.”
