Heartbreak at Dawn: Second‑Alarm Blaze Devastates Lancaster County Dairy Barn

The low hum of sirens gave way to darkness broken only by flickering flames as firefighters descended on a two‑story dairy barn in Salisbury Township before dawn Thursday. At approximately 2:30 a.m., local dispatchers alerted units to a fire at the 6100 block of Old Philadelphia Pike near Churchtown Road, a report later confirmed by on‑duty dispatch logs.

Within minutes, volunteer crews from White Horse Fire Company arrived to find the 40×60‑foot structure fully engulfed. “It was a wall of fire the moment we pulled up,” said Chief Mervin Fisher, who told CBS 21 the blaze was immediately upgraded to a second alarm due to its intensity and size.
