The City of Reading is preparing to welcome the community for another lively evening in the heart of downtown during the August First Friday Block Party, set for Friday, August 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. The celebration will take place in the 600 block of Penn Street and promises a festive mix of music, food, art, and family-friendly entertainment.
The event will feature live performances by Orquesta Tropikal and DJ Houdini, creating an energetic backdrop for the evening’s activities. Casa W. Distillery will host a cocktail garden, while a variety of food vendors—including El Sandwichon Food Truck, Handy Dandy Odds and Ends, and New York Place—will offer a wide selection of savory dishes, sweet treats, and refreshing drinks.
Visitors can also test their skills on a rock climbing wall or join in a friendly domino tournament hosted by city staff. Local businesses and community organizations will be on hand with a range of goods and services, including poetry by The Poet Smiley, fitness offerings from Nemesis Fitness, and handcrafted items from vendors such as Unitas Domas, Pixels in Print, and Glitter Me.
