Lancaster City considering remodeling some downtown streets from one-way to two-way roads

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Lancaster City is considering major roadway renovations and is looking at turning many of the downtown one-way streets into two-ways. This is part of a study the city is calling “The Two-Way Restoration Study” where leaders will evaluate nine major streets to ultimately see which could be converted.

Officials say this is all part of the city’s “Vision Zero Lancaster” program that is working toward a goal of zero serious injuries and/or fatalities on city streets.

A map created by the city shows the nine roads under consideration:

  • Prince Street
  • Queen Street
  • Duke Street
  • Lime Street
  • Church Street
  • King Street
  • Orange Street
  • Walnut Street
