CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A Dauphin County man is facing over 200 charges after being accused of fraudulently issuing counterfeit Pennsylvania safety inspection stickers to commercial motor vehicles.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Troopers arrested Fares Farhat, 50, of Halifax, during a traffic stop on August 4. Farhat, a mechanic suspended from completing safety inspections, allegedly sold, distributed, and fraudulently issued counterfeit Pennsylvania safety inspections to commercial motor vehicles that couldn’t pass a real inspection.
Troopers say Farhat committed his alleged crimes between October 2024 and July 2025. During this time, he’s accused of illicitly obtaining counterfeit inspection stickers and issuing them to commercial vehicles in several Pennsylvania counties…
