Thank you for the enlightening and frightening story about the probability of catastrophic flooding in central Pennsylvania (July 30).

You reported that the Swatara Creek rose beyond 26 feet in 2011 and closed Harper’s Tavern for two months. I hosted my sister’s bridal shower there and did not realize the threat the Swatara poses.
