LANCASTER, Pa. — An employee at the Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Company died at the facility on Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to Caryn Foster Durham, Director of Strategic Communications with the company.
According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Apolinar Mendez Heredia, 63, of Lancaster, was pronounced dead after first responders removed him from a piece of machinery. The coroner’s office responded to the scene at about 1:17 p.m.
