Man charged with assault, terroristic threats after large police response at Springettsbury home

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Springettsbury Township Police said they arrested a 79-year-old man and charged him with simple assault and making terroristic threats after the York County Quick Response Team was deployed to his home for a domestic violence call on Monday.

Charles Knokey was taken into custody without incident and transported to York Hospital for an evaluation, according to an update from the police department.

The department said it received a call shortly after 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 22 for a report of a verbal domestic incident in which “one subject was possibly armed.” Police said they were able to meet the victim outside of the home and move her to safety…
