Hospital locks down emergency room after man allegedly pushes, screams at staff: police

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Police have filed charges against a man who allegedly caused a hospital’s emergency room to go on lockdown after threatening and pushing staff.

Officers heard from UPMC Lititz Hospital staff around 8:20 p.m. Oct. 12 that a man was acting out of control in the emergency room, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department.

The man, identified as 56-year-old Brian Rineer, was allegedly threatening workers, screaming profanities, and “aggressively growling at staff members as if he was a dog,” police said…
