WATCH | Dallastown School District teacher proposed to during award assembly

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An elementary school teacher giving out prizes at an assembly was shocked when she got a prize she wasn’t expecting.

Ore Valley Elementary teacher, Abigail Herbert, was helping district staff give out awards during the school’s CARES assembly, which recognizes students of the month for their contributions to the schools.

Each student’s name was read aloud by principal Dr. Brian Raab but, as the assembly concluded, Raab read out one last name—Herbert’s boyfriend…
