High winds lead to downed power lines, outages at railroad crossings in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Firefighters in Lancaster County and throughout much of the Central PA area pushed back against high winds that caused damage to electrical poles and buildings in the area Sunday.

The Garden Spot Fire Rescue said around 10 a.m. they were called to New Holland Church Furniture on Prospect Street after callers reported seeing flames and an explosion.

Upon arrival, they reportedly found multiple poles, wires, and transformers down in the street, which in turn had caused a massive power outage in the area…
