Lancaster man arrested for alleged assault, terroristic threats; multiple schools evacuated

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster man was arrested for allegedly strangling a victim and making threats of shooting police, which caused multiple nearby schools to be evacuated Friday afternoon.

William Tyler, 43, of Lancaster, was arrested and charged with Strangulation, Aggravated Assault, and Terroristic Threats after a police incident closed multiple streets and sidewalks in the 400 block of South Ann Street, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police.

The bureau says on November 21 at around 2:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence at South Ann Street for a report of a domestic incident involving a firearm.
