In 1985, the Lebanon Rescue Mission, in cooperation with Lebanon County Christian Ministries and Catholic Social Services, sought to provide a homeless shelter for women. Restoring a historic mansion at 9th and Walnut Streets, the Agape Family Shelter provided sanctuary for single women, pregnant women and mothers with children.
Now more than 40 years later, Lebanon Rescue Mission is selling the South 9th Street Agape Family Shelter to Jubilee Ministries as part of its plans to expand to meet the need of a growing demand for housing.
The $425,000 sale is part of three buildings being sold by the Rescue Mission for their Agape Safe Haven expansion project.
