‘VA helps you get to wherever you need to go’

COATESVILLE–Homeless veterans in Chester, Montgomery and Delaware counties are getting off the streets and finding stable housing, thanks to the Coatesville VA Medical Centers Homeless Programs.

The programs provide stable housing and essential services to veterans experiencing homelessness, ensuring they have a place to call home and access to high-quality healthcare and supportive services.

Thanks to the collaboration between the VA and HUD, known as HUD/VASH, 240 homeless Veterans this year have found stable homes in the three-county region.

A homeless outreach team from the VA — four street outreach social workers and one coordinated entry specialist — find homeless veterans and place them in emergency shelters, including the 45-bed shelter, at Independence Hall, on the Coatesville VA campus. The VA Outreach Teams success would not be possible without the established partnerships with more than 50 community organizations, including non-profits, state and local government, police and businesses…
