Man had to pay hundreds to get his car back after central Pa. cops’ dud drug search

A Philadelphia man traveling to Harrisburg ended up stranded at a rural Lancaster County gas station this fall after local police impounded his vehicle, looking for evidence he was trafficking drugs.

The Northwest Regional Police Department never found any drugs, nor did they file charges against 51-year-old Cortez Rhedrick following the late night Oct. 14 traffic stop.

But when Rhedrick tried to get his car back, police required him to show proof he paid $350 to a private tow company, Cocker’s Towing, before they released his vehicle…
