Former Lancaster Police officer will serve up to 57 years in prison for rape of 3 underage victims

LANCASTER, Pa. — A former Lancaster Bureau of Police officer will serve up to 57 years in prison after being convicted earlier this year of raping and sexually assaulting three underage girls while he was a member of the police department in the 1990s.

Andrew Scott Selby, 56, was sentenced Thursday to a prison term of 22.5 to 57 years by Lancaster County Senior Judge William P. Mahon, who called Selby’s actions “reprehensible.”

And, Mahon said, the many years Selby will spend behind bars are meant to serve as a “message” to other police officers and the public that a position of public trust should never be abused…
