Lancaster County Christian School (LCCS) concluded the most successful fundraising campaign in the school’s history during the week of Giving Tuesday in December. With a goal of $500,000 and a timely snow day on Dec. 2 that caused the school to extend the campaign, LCCS raised more than $737,000.
One hundred percent of the proceeds went to the LCCS Heart of a Lion capital campaign to construct a 58,741-square-foot building expansion on the east side of the existing Leola campus. The new facility will address crowded classrooms; increase specialized space for its Innovation Academies; and establish specific areas designed to foster fellowship, collaboration, and creativity. It will also provide for future growth for generations to come, ensuring that LCCS can continue to educate and build disciples of Jesus Christ.
As a result of the campaign’s success, head of school Nate Long made good on a spur-of-the-moment pledge to sleep on the roof of the school before Christmas if the goal was met.
