Shapiro Secures $147.5M Eurofins Expansion, Bringing 250 New Jobs to Lancaster

UPPER LEACOCK TWP, PA — On Monday, Governor Josh Shapiro announced a $147.5 million private-sector expansion by Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a move state officials say will cement Lancaster County’s role as a global hub for life sciences and biopharmaceutical testing.

The investment by Eurofins Scientific (ERF.PA) includes the construction of a 300,000-square-foot laboratory and office expansion at the company’s 49-acre campus along New Holland Pike. The project is expected to create 250 new jobs over the next three years while retaining 3,080 existing positions, according to the Governor’s Office.

Pennsylvania is backing the expansion with more than $2.1 million in state support, including a $1.8 million Pennsylvania First grant and a $375,000 WEDnetPA grant to help train workers.
