Treasurer of Lancaster County fire company and American Legion post accused of stealing funds

MARIETTA, Pa. — A Lancaster County woman who previously worked as a treasurer for a Marietta fire company and an American Legion post has been charged with altering bank balances to cover her theft of funds from both organizations, according to Susquehanna Regional Police.

Patricia Ries, 44, was charged after the Pennsylvania Auditor General’s Office found evidence of fraudulent activity on bank statements for the Marietta Special Fire Police Association and checks for the Marietta Legion Riders Association of the Marietta American Legion Riders Post 466.
