Wanted man arrested in Benton Borough after fleeing from police

BENTON BOROUGH, COLUMBIA CO. (WOLF) — A man wanted on an active warrant was taken into custody after briefly fleeing from police in Benton Borough, according to authorities.

Benton Borough Police say the incident happened around 1 p.m. when Officer Guiney was on patrol near Main Street and spotted Niles Keck standing behind a residence. The officer was aware that Keck had an active arrest warrant issued out of Lancaster County.

Police say when Officer Guiney attempted to make contact, Keck immediately ran from the area. A short foot pursuit followed, during which the officer deployed his department-issued taser and ordered Keck to get on the ground. Authorities say Keck complied and was taken into custody without further incident…
