Police in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, are investigating possible connections between local grave robberies and Jonathan Gerlach, dubbed “the Pennsylvania Ghoul.” Earlier this month, authorities found human remains in Gerlach’s Lancaster County home, leading to nearly 500 charges, including 100 counts of corpse abuse.
Gerlach, 34, allegedly conducted a series of burglaries at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, where he reportedly stole over 100 human remains. According to The Guardian, Gerlach admitted to selling some remains online. Police tied him to the cemetery burglaries through vehicle and phone records, catching him in the act on January 6.
