LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A mother and son were both arrested after Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) conducted a welfare check in Lancaster County, according to a news release.
Lancaster police noted that just before 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, PSP was called to the area of Eagle Drive and Kimberly Avenue. At the scene, troopers said they learned a 67-year-old woman had been strangled by her son, 34, both of New Providence.
The 34-year-old fled the scene before troopers arrived and returned after they left, according to a release. When troopers returned, he was promptly arrested. Once in custody, he claimed his mother had “threatened to gut him with a bowie knife.”…
