$3K+ of cigarettes stolen from Lancaster County Wawa by fake Newport rep

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Someone made off with thousands of dollars’ worth of cigarettes at a Lancaster County Wawa after investigators say they posed as a representative from Newport Cigarettes.

Photos of the suspect, who was wearing a green reflective vest, white shoes and gloves, and a red face mask, were posted Thursday on Facebook by Pennsylvania State Police Tips.

He then made his way behind the checkout counter at the Salisbury Township Wawa located along State Route 41, and filled garbage bags with $3,652 worth of Newport cigarettes, according to investigators. He then got into a silver Ford Explorer that was occupied by another suspect and left.

Pennsylvania State Police at Lancaster are investigating the theft.
