PENN TWP, PA — A serious two-vehicle crash in southern Chester County sent multiple people to area hospitals Wednesday morning, leaving two victims in critical condition and prompting an ongoing investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale Barracks, troopers were dispatched at approximately 10:58 a.m. to the intersection of Irving Drive and West Baltimore Pike in Penn Township following reports of a crash involving entrapment. Fire and emergency medical crews from several local departments also responded to the scene.
State police said one of the vehicles was occupied by seven individuals, while the second vehicle had a single occupant. Investigators allege that the driver of the first vehicle was traveling westbound on West Baltimore Pike and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Irving Drive, turning directly into the path of the eastbound second vehicle.
