Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday met with older residents in Dauphin and Luzerne counties during Identity Theft Awareness Week to discuss trending scams, how scammers were successful in 2025, and ways Pennsylvanians can protect themselves.
According to the Office of Attorney General, advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence, have led to more sophisticated scams and higher financial losses. In 2025, the Bureau of Consumer Protection’s Scam Team received more than 4,000 scam-related complaints, with Pennsylvanians losing more than $76 million to scammers.
