LANCASTER, Pa. — Each day throughout south central Pennsylvania, whether people know it or not, they pass by history.
Without some of this history around the time of the colonies, the idea of the United States may have been just that: history.
“Lancaster was the largest inland city in the entire 13 colonies at this time. You take the Conestoga Wagon Road, Lincoln Highway; it goes by many different names, Route 30 from Philadelphia to Lancaster,” described Historic Rock Ford Curator Sarah Alberico. “So, Lancaster is this grouping of people that wanted to go west, but not live in the ultimate wilderness out west near Fort Pitt.”…
