Horse Spooked, Buggy Slides Into Minivan In Providence Twp.

The crash happened on Main Street in Providence Township about 212 feet west of Cinder Road in Lancaster County just before 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, according to state police.

A horse and buggy traveling south on Main Street was approaching a northbound 2013 Dodge Journey when the horse was “spooked by an unknown environmental factor,” troopers explained. The horse abruptly pulled the buggy at a sharp angle, causing it to slide sideways into the minivan.

The buggy sustained significant damage and became disabled after its front left wheel broke off, police said. The Dodge Journey also suffered minor damage in the collision…
