Jury convicts Virginia man of assaulting two girls in Lancaster County more than 20 years ago

LANCASTER, Pa. — A jury convicted a Virginia man of assaulting two girls in Lancaster County more than 20 years ago.

According to the Office of Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams, Jacob Lee Smyth, 45, was found guilty on two counts of unlawful contact with a minor, two counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and two counts of corruption of minors.

The Office of the DA said that Smyth assaulted the victims at two different homes beginning in 2004. One of the victims, now 30, reportedly testified during the trial that Smyth assaulted her along the 300 block of Little Britain Church Road when she was between 8 and 12 years old…
