PA school district says it won’t allow students to walk out in protest of ICE warehouse

BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — After students of a Berks County high school planned a peaceful walkout to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s purchase of a county warehouse, the school district says it will not allow the student action.

A ninth grader from Governor Mifflin High School reached out to CBS 21 on Tuesday regarding a “peaceful walkout to protest the recent actions taken by ICE, especially the purchase of a warehouse in our county,” which was planned for 12:54 p.m. Thursday.

But on Thursday morning, the communications director for the Governor Mifflin School District told CBS 21 that the district would “not be permitting any such actions by out student body” due to safety concerns:…
