A Pennsylvania man has been charged with attempted homicide and assault after allegedly stabbing his 3-month-old baby son and throwing the infant in the snow.

Police were called to a reported stabbing incident at an apartment complex in Coatesville, a city in the southeastern part of the state, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at approximately 11:36 a.m. local time, per a joint news release shared by the Coatesville Police Department (CPD) and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found an injured infant who had seemingly been stabbed in the abdomen. The infant’s mother told police that the child’s father, Michael Phillips, 44, had made comments about needing to “sacrifice” the baby earlier that morning and then attacked the baby with a knife, stabbing him once, per the release…
