The Lancaster City Fire Bureau was dispatched at approximately 5:30 a.m. to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of E. Walnut Street near North Marshall Street, according to Fire Chief Todd Hutchinson and emergency dispatch.
While en route, crews were advised of a working fire. Dispatchers urged the public to avoid the area.
“Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions on the first floor, along with severe hoarding conditions throughout the residence, which complicated firefighting efforts,” Hutchinson said in a statement. “No working smoke detectors were found inside the home.”…
