PA wildlife center has message for hunters after bald eagle dies from lead poisoning

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster County wildlife center has a message for hunters and fishers after a bald eagle in its care died of lead poisoning.

“We urge all sportsmen to make responsible choices while hunting or fishing—specifically, to opt for lead-free alternatives,” the Raven Ridge Wildlife Center wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday. “Non-lead bullet options, such as copper, steel, bismuth, and tungsten, provide non-toxic, high-performance solutions for hunting and shooting.”
