‘Quiet’ dad accused of stabbing baby and leaving him in snow in alleged ‘sacrifice’ plot

A 44-year-old Pennsylvania father is facing attempted homicide and assault charges after allegedly stabbing his 3-month-old infant and tossing him into the snow for a “sacrifice.”

The child’s mother, Dominique, alleges that the toddler’s father, Michael Phillips, 44, made remarks earlier in the day about wanting to “sacrifice” their baby before he was caught stabbing him once in the abdomen with a knife and throwing him into the snow outside their apartment complex in Coatesville. Police responded to a call at 11:36 a.m. on Feb. 11 after receiving a report about a stabbing incident, according to a joint press release from the Coatesville Police Department and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

The mother said she grabbed the baby and ran outside with her 9-year-old after the father stabbed him, but he followed them, snatched the toddler and “threw” him into the snow. The mother said she went on to physically shield the baby while the older child contacted authorities for help…
