Eat, Sip, Shop: After 16 years, family-run Italian restaurant to close in Berks County

A longstanding spot for pizza, pasta and other Italian favorites is bidding farewell in Berks County, but the restaurant’s owners are planning to open a new dining establishment about 12 miles north next month.

Mangia! Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, a family-run restaurant known for its authentic, made-to-order Italian specialties, will close on March 8 at 322 E. Wyomissing Ave. in Cumru Township, just outside Mohnton.

Founded in 2009 by husband-and-wife Giuseppe and Anna Maria Folino, Mangia has grown into beloved community restaurant known for its brick oven pizza, house-made sauces and tableside pasta presentations.

“With a heavy, but grateful heart, I’m writing to let you know that we will be closing Mangia as of March 8, 2026 after 16 years of business,” owner Giuseppe Folino announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page…
