BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The PA Department of Environmental Protection issued administrative orders Thursday to PA townships where the Department of Homeland Security recently purchased detention centers.
The orders, sent to the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority (SCMA), Tremont Township, and Upper Bern Township, state that water and sewage cannot be supplied to the detention centers, and that the buildings cannot be occupied until federal and state environmental regulations are followed.
