A fatal shooting in Elizabethtown Borough, Lancaster County, has left one man dead and a suspect on the loose following a domestic dispute that turned violent late Saturday (March 7) night.
According to a press release from Elizabethtown Borough Police Chief Derek Koch, officers were dispatched at 11:53 p.m. to the first block of Beech Lane after a shooting was reported. When they arrived, they found Tyler J. Halbleib, of Elizabethtown, lying on the front porch of a residence with a gunshot wound to the upper chest. Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Halbleib was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say four people living at the home had been involved in a prolonged verbal domestic dispute prior to the shooting. At some point, Halbleib and the suspect left the residence and continued arguing outside. Minutes later, the suspect shot Halbleib and fled the scene in a vehicle.
