Prosecutors won’t charge driver in crash that killed beloved Dauphin County Parks & Rec employee

A Dauphin County man who fell asleep while driving and killed a pedestrian — a parks and recreation worker — two days after Christmas in 2024 won’t face criminal charges for killing the county employee, according to the district attorney’s office.

Gary Frampton, 55, known as Dauphin County Parks & Recreation’s “unsung hero,” died in the hospital soon after the Dec. 27, 2024, crash, which the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office determined was not criminal.

Police will not be pursuing criminal charges against the driver, Jeffrey Meuler, but Meuler recently settled an auto negligence lawsuit filed by Frampton’s surviving sister for $250,000…
