870,000 birds affected by Avian Flu at Lancaster County commercial egg layer

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A commercial egg layer in Lancaster County reported that 870,000 birds are affected by Avian Flu in a recent outbreak, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

This is the second case in the last seven days in Lancaster County and the latest of several cases in the area in 2026, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said.
