Lancaster man sentenced up to 20 years in prison after fatal shooting outside of party

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster man was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in state prison Thursday after a jury found him guilty of a fatal shooting outside of a party in 2021.

Steffen Tidwell Jr., 31, was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter after shooting and killing 26-year-old Jomar Almestica in Lancaster city on Aug. 20, 2021.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, Tidwell grabbed a handgun from his car during a “tense argument.” He then pointed it and fired five times…
