A body was discovered inside a burning vehicle in Cumru Township, Berks County, early Sunday (March 29), triggering an active investigation by multiple law enforcement and emergency agencies.
According to WFMZ-TV, firefighters were called to the area of South Ninth Street, near the Reading city line, around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. After extinguishing the fire, they discovered a deceased person inside.
Berks County Coroner Matthew J. Stitzel announced that his office took custody of the decedent at 6:17 a.m. The body was then transported to the Reading Hospital morgue. The identity of the deceased has not been released, as positive identification has not yet been made…
