Fire crews use ‘specialized equipment’ to cut kids finger loose from toy at PA hospital

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Rescue crews with the Newberry Township Fire Department were called to assist with a peculiar pediatric emergency on Tuesday at a York County hospital.

In a Facebook post, the fire department said a kid had their finger caught inside a thick plastic toy and, after recognizing the specialized equipment needed, hospital staff called crews in to assist.

With the use of the man vs. machine kit, rescue crews were able to slice away the object and successfully free the kid’s finger without further injury…
