Lancaster Lunchtime Hold-Up Rattles Busy Gas Station

High noon at a Lancaster gas station turned tense last Saturday when a man walked into The Forks convenience store, pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded cash, according to deputies. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount and the suspect left on foot toward Memorial Park Road. No shots were fired and the clerk was not injured.

Investigators say the man had been hanging around the property beforehand, loitering near a fuel tank and sitting on crates by the entrance while customers were still coming and going. Once the store emptied out, he headed inside.

Deputies described the suspect as a Black male between 6’2″ and 6’4″ who was wearing a gray Nike hoodie, black pants and black Nike Air Force One shoes. In a statement to WCCB Charlotte, Sheriff Barry Faile called the midday timing “a little unusual” for a typically busy store and urged anyone who recognizes the clothing to contact investigators.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, anyone with information should call 803-283-3388 and select Option 4, or submit an anonymous tip through P3Tips. The agency says tips from people who were at The Forks that day could be crucial in identifying the suspect.
