The U.S. Forest Service announced it will close its office in York, Pennsylvania, as part of a nationwide restructuring plan. The restructuring aims to streamline operations by moving the Forest Service headquarters from Washington, D.C., to Salt Lake City, Utah. The agency will adopt a state-based organizational model, with a new state office set to open in Warren, Pennsylvania. According to the ABC27 report, the change is expected to enhance the Forest Service’s core mission of managing forests more effectively and efficiently.
