Hit-and-run suspect who hid in Palmyra high school pleads guilty

A New York hit-and-run suspect who hid at Palmyra Area High School in 2025 has pleaded guilty to charges related to the incident.

Tyreef Spears appeared before Lebanon County Court of Common Pleas Senior Judge Samuel Kline on Thursday, April 23. He pleaded guilty to charges that include aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death/personal injury, accidents involving death/injury while not properly licensed, criminal trespass, evading arrest on foot, two counts of accidents involving attended vehicle or property, possession of marijuana and various summary violations.

Spears’ attorney, Matthew Marino, said there is a plea agreement with the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office for a one-year minimum sentence, with the sentencing judge to decide if that is to be served in jail, under house arrest or a combination of the two. Spears would also receive two years’ probation, and no driving privileges during the length of his sentence…
