WellSpan Pediatric Medicine Physicians are seeing seasonal allergies this week.
“Seasonal allergies have arrived early and with greater intensity this year, with common symptoms including a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, red, watery eyes and cough,” said Dr. Christopher Russo, medical director of pediatrics at WellSpan Health. “To help prevent and manage symptoms, children can use non-drowsy antihistamines such as Zyrtec or Claritin, along with Flonase and eye drops. It’s also helpful to keep windows closed on high-pollen days, wash hands and face after outdoor play and vacuum regularly.”…
