LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Consumers Energy is expanding its line-clearing efforts this year, with crews working across more than 9,000 miles of power lines in an effort to strengthen the electric grid and improve public safety across Michigan.
The company said trees and limbs remain the leading cause of outages, accounting for nearly 40% of all service interruptions.
