EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The semifinals of the 64th annual Diamond Classic began at 5 p.m. and didn’t wrap up until shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, with two battles to the finish at Michigan State’s McLane Stadium.
In the first game, Lansing Catholic outlasted Haslett 4-3 in extra innings, winning on a walk-off single by Antony Branoff in the bottom of the ninth.
In the second game, Mason fell behind Grand Ledge 4-0 before coming back to tie the game. The Comets then took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the sixth, when Mason came up clutch with a five-run inning and closed it out in the seventh to win 9-5…
