LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — An East Lansing District Court judge has arraigned 55-year-old Demetra Kazanis, of Northville, on 43 felony counts related to an alleged Medicaid fraud scheme.
Kazanis has been charged in the 54B District Court in East Lansing with one count of conducting a criminal enterprise, which is punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $100,000, according to the Michigan Department of Attorney General. She has also been charged with 42 counts of Medicaid Fraud, each punishable by up to four years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $50,000.
