LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — U.S. News & World Report has placed Michigan State University among the top institutions worldwide in its 2026–27 Best Global Universities ranking.
MSU ranked 127th out of 2,250 institutions across 105 surveyed countries, per the report. The university was ranked 46th out of 289 among colleges and universities in the United States.
MSU’s Education and Educational Research program was deemed the university’s most prestigious, ranking 11th globally and first in the U.S. The university’s Plant and Animal Science program also ranked high, placing 16th globally and fifth in the country.
