Thousands remain without power in region

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Thousands of residents of Michigan — from Hillsdale County to Eaton County — remain without power following Friday’s storms.

Consumers Energy reported 1,425 outages impacting 53,285 people as of 11:56 a.m. July 5.

The company reported in a news release Sunday that crews were focusing on hardest hit areas including Adrian, Hillsdale and the Lansing area as well as the Battle Creek area.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light reported 63 active outages impacting 918 people in the service area as of 12:01 p.m. Sunday.

DTE meanwhile reported hundreds of people impacted by outages from Willamston east to Brighton on Sunday shortly after 12 n. Throughout the company’s entire service area, 160,366 remained without power…
